It's a BOY!

Bowen Steven Duer arrived on May 22, 2012 at 7:24 am.  Weighing in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces and stretching out 19 3/4 inches, he looks amazingly like his big brother.  Delivery and homecoming were very smooth...and big brother is enjoying loving up on the little guy.  Now that we are getting a little more sleep....life is slowly adjusting to being a family of four.  I'd say it's a pretty good fit for us...we are smitten.

Happy Mother's Day 2012!

Happy Mom's Day to you!  We had a beautiful start to the weekend today and took Greyson to the Blank Park Zoo...and on a train ride.  You can see the excitement on his face when that choo-choo began it's short trip.  And the only animals we had to go back and see twice were the baby crocodiles (not to be confused with the things that give us bad dreams). 

We are counting down the days until this baby boy becomes a big brother and are trying to fill them up with so many memories of being a family of 3.  As exciting as it has been talking to Greyson about what a big boy he is growing up to be and having him help get things ready for baby #2, as a mom, I'm not going to lie, it's tough to imagine loving another little one as much as we do Greyson.  We know that on November 24th, 2009...our lives changed for the better and God gave us Grey...and very soon, that kind of instantaneous love is going to happen in our hearts again.  We can't wait to watch Grey become a big brother...and us a family of 4.

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny has arrived!  If only we could contain the anticipation of peeking into that Easter basket this morning...and then the sound of him running from egg to egg to egg in the yard...well that in between him opening the eggs to eat the candy out of each one before proceeding to the next.  We also headed to Grandma and Grandpa's where Greyson had his first taste of an egg hunt Duer style...clues inside each egg that get to the next egg.  All in all it was a wonderful day spent starting new traditions in a growing family and spending time with grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  We are so thankful Jesus has risen...

Excitement???

We thought we could capture how excited Grey is for the 'baby' in mommy's tummy.  Everyday he pats the belly, gives it zerberts, or will randomly walk by and plant a kiss on it.  He also tells us he wants the baby to come out....which mommy calmly reassures him we're not ready soon enough!  He definitely has a genuine curiousity and a tender heart for all things small, so we are hoping this carries over after baby arrives.

Grey's language is blossoming...he can repeat and quote things you say even if he only hears them once..and the inflection and context in which he repeats things amazes us.  It's like looking in the mirror some days...and then you realize how silly you sound.  He's big on doing things "myself mommy," and as excited as we are to be adding another little to our family, we plan to fully enjoy our first little even more the next 3 months.
